Regarding trail Eagleville Pond near Coventry, CT

Hi,
I came through your post of kayaking on Eagleville pond route and also great wildlife. I am familiar with Eagleville lake but have not ventured further than that. How difficult or easy it is to go further north of Eagleville lake and also if it is possible to do a round about after x miles and come back to Eagleville lake since I will be parked there.
So far I have not ventured in to streaming rivers but only in calm waters so any advice from you will be appreciated.
