I have recently got back into mountain biking, looking for some nice quiet trails where there is awesome views and possibly some old cabins or sawmills ect....

If anyone knows any good sites please please let me know.

Thanks and looking forward to crossing trails with you out there.

Kevin

There's a bunch of mountain biking trails on trailpeak (for example, check out many biking trail's added by Gord

An excellent reference is the book 'Backcountry Biking in the Canadian Rockies' by Doug Eastcott published by Rocky Mountain books.

Speaking of Gord... (I was away for bit)

Jumpingpound Loop - very close to Cgy, 9.5km figure 8 loop, impossible to get lost, easy (depending on pace) - South side of road is easier (less climbing, less side slope but more technical), you may want to walk a couple parts, but the whole thing is rideable when you get some experience and confidence.

Sibbald Flats - same area, great creek / picnic site at East end.

One of the two Jumpingpound Demonstration forest loops road has an old sawmill.

Flat Creek by Longview is longish (32km return) but easy road with great views of the front ranges after 9km.

Sheep River trail near Black Diamond, several small creek crossings but you feel WAY out there
