This track is one way to Laughing Falls campground (4.4km one way) from the parking lot in the Yoho Valley. It then shows a loop which includes the Whale Back and Twin Falls. We hiked in late and spent the night at Laughing falls then spent the following day enjoying the 14KM loop (clockwise) around the Whale back and Twin Falls. We even stopped for hot chocolate at the twin lake tea house. Spectacular views!

Directions:

The trail head starts at the overnight backcountry parking at the end of the
Yoho valley road. It is past Takakkaw Falls.

Clockwise is definitely the best way to go about this hike, get the elevation out of the way early Downside can be a long day if you aren't prepared for it, some switchbacks going up and down off the Whaleback, but thats about it Comment My Daughter and I did this hike in the spring and loved it, was a good 9 hour hike with a few breaks of course, but one of my favorite hikes so far! will do it again for sure. Make sure the seasonal Bridge is in before going as it is the only way across the top of Twin Falls safely
