Ballard State Park, located across the street from Rogers High School, is a nice little trail to take the doggie for a walk in. It's set up in a nice little loop that you can walk, snowshoe, or bike on and it will bring you back to where you started or you can make your way into the middle of the park where there is a nice field and quarry face. Have a picnic and enjoy the scenery.

Things to look out for: joggers and walkers in the early hours of the day. Also, during Halloween time, the quarry area is filled with hayride tours and such, so make sure you dont scare them too badly.

Directions:

Take Bellevue through Newport and take a right onto Ruggles Ave. Follow Ruggles until you are in front of Rogers High School and park on the left hand side of the road by the trail sign.

A nice area that is not too crowded Downside Not a big climb. Losers break bottles on the rocks and throw trash/objects around down there now an then. Comment CLIMBING ON THE ISLAND!!!!! Its fun to go do it if you only have a little time
