Ames Norwell State Park is a good sized (600 acre) park in Abington, MA, about 30 minutes south of Boston. This is a great area where one can drop their kayak in the water, mountain bike about 10 miles of single-track, hike throughout the park and when the snow falls all those trails are great for snowshoeing and mellow cross country skiing.

Cleveland pond lies in center of the park and is very popular for fishing and kayaking/canoeing. The trails around the park have recently been maintained by local volunteers making them ideal for biking and hiking.

Some mellower trails are right along the pond and some steeper more technical trails can be found in the western most part of the park. Many of the more difficult trails feature single-track with large boulders to roll over and even some slick rock.

Directions:

To get to Ames Norwell State Park simple take route 3 to exit 16. Once off the highway take route 18 to route 123 West, then simply follow signs to the park's entrance.
