The trail starts right from the road and you climb straight up about 50 m. (give or take). Starting with some stairs, then mostly roots and big rocks. after that the trail condition approves and winds up and down across several creeks, witch have had new bridges put in the last couple years. after about 1.5k you come to a bit of a fork where you can continue up some power lines that put you out on to Indian River road. But you want to hang a right at this fork. Which will dump you out on the a bluff that sticks out 40m or 50m that looks over deep cove. Some trail runners, dog walkers, and families use this trail, it's simple, easy, and a quick fix for many in town.
Head east on Mount Seymour PKWY. TO Deep Cove RD. and turn left. and follow until you see Panorama Dr. witch is in "Down Town" Deep Cove. Turn Left on Panorama Dr. drive along Panorama Dr. about 300m and the trail head is on your left. it starts about 10m up a shared driveway.

QuestionI was wondering if anyone is aware of the name of a seniors hiking/walking group that is based out of Vancouver (near Oakridge) that has previously done maintenance on the Quarry rock Baden Powell trail.
I was hiking it last year and this group was doing an amazing job on the trail. They were also very friendly. I would like to give the information to my parents.
I hope someone can help me get the name of this group.

UpsideClose by. In Deep Cove so you can hang out or add another activity (kayaking, eating pizza ; ) Quick work-out. Great for trail running. Pretty- as some sunlight filters through. Nice vista for a short hike - great place for lunch at the top. Dog-friendly! Downside"Tourist-busy" on weekends -can slow down your trail run/hike. Parking can be brutal. Short - you might want to do it more than once as a trail-run or training route. CommentThis trail is short and fairly easy. Only a few spots that would get your heart-rate up for a few minutes. For a quick work-out and to get the dog out on average I hike/run up it in about 20 minutes and down in 18.....pausing to encourage pooch to drink from the mountain run-off etc., so I'm not pushing myself. Great for beginner hikers/all ages or training with a heavy back pack for more challenging hikes : )

Upsidegreat quick hike (45 mins. approx). Amazing view at the top of deep cove. Good workout, will get your heart pumping. DownsideMore than a downside, this is just a small warning: it is practically up hill the enire way so be prepared and pace yourself. Also, if you're looking for privacy or quiet, there are a lot of people on this trail with children... and their dogs. CommentGreat sunday afternoon hike. Take a packed lunch and enjoy a picnic overlooking deep cove at the top.
