Trailpeak and GPS go back a long way, we were the first site in North America to anticipate that sharing GPS data trails would become popular. Now, GPS appears everywhere from cell phones to low cost hand held devices. We offered a GPS course to thousands across Canada in the early days, and many of our users have since gained great confidence outdoors and this has allowed them to explore the mountains, rivers, forests by foot, bike, ski or other -- to make outdoor sport and nature a bigger part of their lives. We promote self-supported adventure for all these reasons, and, the site www.trailpeak.com is maintained by several volunteer moderators across the country, with software development and hosting being our significant. We feel that new features are the key to our service, and we have in-house development. Our new features and software development are low cost but they still cost. As a result, we do rely on those that have used trailpeak or found it helpful to them, to consider becoming a premium member allowing them to be eligible for great gear draws each month. All our site functionality other than GPS downloads (you have to give 1 upload to get 3 downloads) are free. Trailpeak was started by Kurt Turchan, and has become Canada's largest trails web-site built by Canadians.
