Dans Hall here with my favorite trail ever! 5 mile hike in, heading up the shoulder of Armstrong Mountain to "base camp" at Wolf Jaw lean-to's. Camp on a nicely flowing creek bed from lean-to to head down turn left hiking thru one bed (2nd lean-to choice) turn left and head up between Saddleback and Gothics. Continue left up Grandmother Gothic's face. If your lucky, there will be cloud cover and you can peer above bare rock cover and see a white/gray blanket of clouds. Continue over upper Wolfjaw and Armstrong until returning to WolfJaw lean-to. Day 3, with many options. Head over to Johns Brook Lodge, Day Hike Saddleback Mountain and hike down thru creek, making camp to Heart Lake. If you stay at Wolfjaw on your way out, bear a right down thru old logging roads with an AMAZING wet crossing; after crossing continue ahead up a nice climb. Continue descent out close to Adk Lodge. My absolute favorite trail in the world!

Directions:

I-87 North Exit head thru Keene Valley (73 North) Before Lake Placid turn left towards ADK LODGE. You will need money for parking!
