LARGER MAP

Description

An 11 pitch rock route (about 5.6).

Hike north from the parking lot a short distance looking for a trail which heads down to the river at a post marked with a small arrow. Wade across the river. **The cable car across the Fiddle River which provided years of access to climbs on Ashlar's Ridge has been removed. It disappeared in early June or late May of 1998. Parks Canada wardens are uncertain at this time who is responsible for the removal, but suffice it to say that the cable, car and all associated hardware are gone.**

Don't attempt this in the spring. I crossed the river in the AM on my first visit and waded through a knee deep section of the river. After the descent we MacGyver'ed our way across the raging beast of a river with the rope and a friend on the other side - ask me for the full story another time.

Directions:

Turn south off HWY 16 at Pocahontas (towards the hot spring). Park at the small paved car park just past the hairpin turn from the Ashlar's Viewpoint.
