This section of the Baden Powell goes from the Cleveland Dam to the Cypress Bowl parking lot.

Directions:

Park at the Cleveland Dam lot just off Capilano Road. Head across the dam and follow the signs for the Baden Powell. The first 30-45 minutes will go through the backyards of houses in West Vancouver. You then into the woods, cross a couple rivers, then arrive at the Cypress Nordic Centre. Follow the signs along the cross country ski trails until you are directed back into the woods again. Continue across a couple more streams until you exit by the Easy Rider chair.

Very quiet. Few other people except near Cleveland and Brothers Creek areas.
Scenic streams, waterfall and views of Van.
Tiny amount of snow left in upper reaches
Downside Last 5 km many muddy sections.
Last 2 km awkward. Downhill over roots, rocks, mud
Comment Hike breaks into distinct sections:
First part through WV homes steep sections with numerous steps.
Skyline/TCT trail enjoyable forest trail, moderately uphill.
After leave Skyline, enjoyable uphill section through forest. Sustained uphill but not seem as steep as expected from maps.
Then 4 km section up X-C ski runs. Very good views at places. Some bugs.
Finally last 2km in forest. Awkward as rough downhill path with roots, muddy clambers. Tough end to the hike.
Took us (both 60) over 5 hours. Over 3,000 feet vertical gain. Slept well after!
