Beach Pond is a 2 mile long x 1/2 mile wide pond on the Connecticut - Rhode Island state line. The length runs east to west. 50% of the pond is bordered by state forest land and is quite pristine. The rest of the pond has very nice lake homes around it. The water is mostly flat near the shore line and can get choppy in the middle with a moderate wind. Touring the entire shoreline is 4 miles, an easy 2 hour paddle. Doing it in an hour is an awesome workout. Beach pond has an elevation of 250 ft and has a dam that feeds the Pachaug River.
Directions:
Beach Pond Park on RTE. 165 at the Connecticut - Rhode Island state line is the best place to put in. There is also a Connecticut state boat launch on the north shore.
