Berlin Boulder is a small boulder set right off the side of the road with decent parking. It is tough to find but navigable. It has easy to moderate climbs that are short. The tricky part is getting down from the top. Your only real option is down climbing or using the tree that has grown next to it to shimmy down between it and the rock. It is not too difficult to do so. This is a perfect spot to hit after school, work, or just for a quick trip as it is small and not too many people know about it so you don't often see anyone else. However in the interest of this site, I will spread the word! Do remember this is situated on public land but in a fairly quiet neighborhood so shhh!
Directions:
From rt. 290:
Get off exit 25A and move towards the Solomon Pond Mall (River Road). Go past the mall and continue on River Road until you hit a rotary in Berlin. Take your second exit off of the rotary onto South Street. At the curve you have the option of going left and continuing on South Street or follow the curve right where there is a Post Office, follow it right (Pleasant Street). Take a left onto rt. 62 and follow until you go over traintracks. Take a right at the train tracks (West Street) and look for the Train Stop restaraunt then take a right at the restaraunt onto Randall Road. Follow this and take the fork left onto Lancaster Road. The Boulder will be on your left where there is not a parking area, but plenty of room to pull over. It is about 20 yards into the woods.
