Description

Looking for a close, simple place to go hike for the day? Look no further than Borderland State Park. A quiet, peaceful spot just a short trip from Sharon Mass. Borderland has a little something for everyone in all four seasons. Hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing are all available here.

There are two main trails: a 3mile loop and a 3.5 mile loop as well. The terrain varies from flat to hilly. And with 1,570 acres of land there is plenty of wildlife for those who have an interest in bird watching and nature walks.

Directions :

Take 95 north or south to exit 8 (South Main St. Sharon) go 3.5 miles to Sharon Center and turn Right onto Billings St. Take an immediate right onto Pond St. and continue south to the rotary. At the rotary continue onto Massapoag Ave. The park entrance is 3.7 miles down on the left-hand side.

Downside You SEVERELY understate the difficulty of some of the trails in this park. A lot of the mt. bike trails (Upper Granite Hills, Lower Granite Hills, Friends Loop, Ridge Trail, NEMBA Loop) have some very technical sections that require at least an intermediate, if not advanced, level of skill as a mt. bike rider.
