About a five mile round trip of spruce forest. At only 1,947 feet, it has spectacular 360' views from its bald summit and false summit. Some steep sections have been improved with stone stairs to control erosion. There is a Nature Center with cool displays 1/2 way up.
Directions:
Take Rte. 95 North to exit 199- Rte. 16 (N or W??). Follow Rte. 16 which becomes rte. 16/15/6 in Dover foxcroft. Follow to Monson, take right on Willimantic Rd, continue strraight , becomes Elliotsville Rd, follow over train tracks. Trailhead on right, parking on left. Donations accpeted to National Audubon Society.
