Operated as a conservancy on land leased from the state of Virginia, this 800-acre area is open to hikers all year long. Most corners of this park's five miles of trails and 900 feet of elevation change could be explored in an afternoon. Watch for all kinds of wildlife, including bears. Snowshoeing is a possibility when there's good snowfall.
