Castle Island is a unique 22 acre park that goes along Dorchester Bay. Not exactly rugged singletrack or challenging hiking, but the long walking/biking trail snakes around Castle Island is a beautiful, serene trip that is great on a bike or on foot. The center of the park is Fort Independence, a huge granite fort that sits a top a small hill. This is a great walk or bike if you want to relax along the ocean

Directions:

The main entrance to Castle Island can be found off the JFK exit off rt 3 or exit 15 off 93. The entrance is right off both highways, so it's easy to find with plenty of parking. If you're feeling more adventurous you pick up the walk way further south right off Morissey Blvd, this makes for a even longer walk along the ocean.
