A major trail loop that is intersected by several side trails, Centennial Woods, owned and managed by the University of Vermont, is a haven in the middle of a city. There are dense woods interspersed with fields and riparian areas, this is one of the best places for bird watching in the city.

Best seasons are summer, fall and winter; the trails get exceptionally muddy in the spring. There is little trail maintenance.

Directions:

From I-89 - Take Exit 14w, make right onto East Ave. Appx. 1/3 of a mile down, take right at lights past police station. Entrance kiosk will be on your left past apartment complexes, but continue on to park in commuter parking lot.
