Hmm, how would I describe this one? How about, imagine a flat area where wood, time and creativity all meet to make what could be one of the most interesting XC mountain bike experiences in Ontario. Thanks to the many hours 'donated' but the CFMBA crew, we all can have a free and great place to ride. Every time I go, there are new stunts and obstacles. With names like 'Mr. Wiggly', 'Double-D' and 'Son of Mr. Skinny' how can you go wrong?

There is GPS data attached to this trail (see "download GPS"), which if loaded into your GPS can help you find route points.
Directions:
From Ottawa: Take the 417 East to the 138. Go south and take a Left at #1B, King's Road. Take another Left at McCuaig's Corners. Then it's just a short drive to Caber Road (on your right). The CFMBA is down Caber Road about 1 km.

UpsideA lot of structures to ride on and drop from, trails were very quick.
DownsideBugs.
CommentI was expected a lot more when I went out there. I usually ride Kanata Lakes and Camp Fortune and compared to those this trail wasn't a 4/5 or difficult. I didn't feel challenged at all in the two hours that I spent there. The challenge was to keep from getting eaten by thousands of Deer Flies since the trails are right beside a huge swamp. I really did like the structures that had been built, they were a lot of fun to ride. The Beast was my favourite.

UpsidePlenty of amazing single track through a tight forest. Some great technical trails with a lot of roller coaster style terrain. There's a fantastic crew building/maintaining the area and what more can you want?
DownsideStill limited in size, and is still pretty new.
CommentI can't wait to ride the 'burgh again, and will DEFINITELY be going back next year with the MTBK crew! :)
Thanks Kula, Warped & the rest of the Gateway Riders!
You guys are helping make Ottawa the MTB Meca of the East!
