Description

This is a great any season walk along the Cheakamus River. The walk makes a nice loop meandering by the river with some very good views of Whistler Mountain, the river and the surrounding forest. The walk is great in the summer with a cool breeze from the river and also great to pick blueberries and huckleberries and in the winter makes a great snowshoe (with enough snow!) or winter walk. There are a few nice picnic spots, kayak put-ins, and a great suspension bridge to grab some pictures. A nice walk for the whole family including the dog.

Directions:

Coming from the south towards Whistler turn right on Westside road across from the turn off for Function Junction. Almost immediately on your left will be a parking lot. At this point enter the demonstration forest walk and stay on the north side (closest to Whistler side) of the river. Follow the walk for about 3kms coming to a suspension bridge. Cross the bridge and return to the starting point on the opposite side.
