Once you are parked make your way left down the bike trail. Travel about 1 mile and then you will come to a creek that goes under the bike trail, on the left of this bridge is the trail, you can either follow the trail to the clearing, once at the clearing go right and the trail goes along the edge of the of the cliff for about a half mile, or you can make your way down the steep incline to the waters edge. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS SO BE CAREFUL. I suggest you bring about 50ft. of rope to help guide you down the incline but more importantly help you back up. During the summer months this makes a great spot to relax and catch some sun, the fall makes for great foliage, the winter makes for a great trek along the riverbank. DO NOT WALK OUT ON THE ICE YOU COULD FALL THROUGH. Stay as close to the bank as you can its the safest way. Be aware of the wildlife, there are deer, fox, raccoon, and sometimes skunks. IT IS YOUR OWN PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHILE OUTDOORS.
This Trail is in conjunction with the Mohawk-Hudson bike trail system. The parking lot is located off of Aqueduct Rd. right before the Rexford Bridge. Take a right off of Aqueduct Rd. onto East St. (or Ave) follow the short bendy hill and you will see the parking lot on the right. if you go over the Rexford Bridge coming from Schenectady you have gone too far. You can also access this from following Van Vranken Ave all the way down and you should be able to see the East St. sign straight ahead.
