This moderately steep trail goes directly to the summit or network of trails to the East of the main trail (which does not allow bikes) at the West access trailhead. Side trails include Old Mills Trail, Aspen Trail and Pine Loop. The East trailhead is separated from West by 1.2 km. This is a nice option for hiking or biking while in the Sun Peaks area northeast of Kamloops. The terrain is mountainous, higher elevation coniferous forest; less dry. Heffley Lake is directly opposite with swimming and camping opportunities.

There is GPS data attached to this trail (see "download GPS"), which if loaded into your GPS can help you find route points.

Directions:

Take a kilometer reading at Heffley Creek Store (the turnoff to Sunpeaks off the Yellowhead highway north of Kamloops). The turnoff to Sunpeaks is well marked and maybe a 25-minute drive north of Kamloops. Travel 16.6 kilometers along Todd Mountain Road. The trailheads have map-boards.

Comment This trail was established for hiking many years ago. The route established is vulnerable to erosion. There are a multitude of alternate routes available for cyclists and designated as primarily for cyclists around Kamloops. This one is not one of them...
