This is a wonderful low valley trail that takes you to two stops at the Esling Creek falls.
At the top of the loop there is a wonderful view of all major mountains in the area including, Red/Granit, Old Glory, Crow, Neptune, Mackie etc.
If you loop the trail to Miral Heights (Trail BC overlook) and back it will take you about 4.5 hours with an elevation change of 400 meters.
The trail is well groomed and flagged.
There is some scramble involved.
The two people who made the trail are in the process extending the loop to include the Birchback overlook.
The Esling Creek trail can be done in 1, 2.5 and 4.5 hours depending on which trailhead is used.
Directions:
MIRAL HEIGHTS TRAIL HEAD: Take the trail to the third swamp then proceed to the third flag. This will access the Esling Creek trail by continuing north.
ESLING CREEK TRAIL HEAD: Proceed by vehicle to the Sunningdale water tower. Drive 1.25 kilometers north on a dirt road to the trail head and follow the signs.
