This Hike is a great way to bag 4 4000' peaks in a day. Follow the Whitehouse Trail .9 mi from the trailhead to the Liberty Spring Trail. Follow the Liberty Spring Trail 2.3 mi to the Franconia Ridge Trail. From this junction it is .3 mi to the summit of Mt. Liberty. I suggest making the short 30 min round trip to check out the views. From the junction of the Liberty Spring Trail proceed north 1.9 mi to the summit of Little Haystack Mtn. From here the hike is above treeline and quite exposed. Take caution during poor weather. It is another .7 mi north to the summit of Mt. Lincoln and then another .9 Mi north to the summit of Mt. Lafayette. From this point take the Greenleaf Trail west 1.1 mi to the Greenleaf AMC Hut. There is a junction here for the Old Bridle Path. Follow it 2.7 mi SW to the junction for the Falling Waters Trail. From this point it is only .2 mi back to I-93 at the Lafayette Place parking area. Total mileage equaling 11.3 miles and roughly 7-8 hours travel time depending of course on weather and average speed of travel.
Directions:
Take I-93 N or Rt-3 N to the Flume visitor center. Just north of there is the parking area for the Whitehouse trailhead. Once in the parking area the trailhead is well marked.
