LARGER MAP

Description

A class 3 run with a class 4 to 5 canyon. Mainly read and run until you hit the canyon, about 500m after the 2nd island. The river narrows to 4-5 meters and drops over a ledge. Then it opens up slightly and drops over more ledges. It narrows again over another ledge and then opens up again. About 75 m downstream is another class 4. After all this excitement the river calms down as you head to the highway.

Directions:

Take out: Picnic Site at the highway 16 bridge over the Goat River.

Put in: From the take out drive 4 km east to the top of the hill, and turn south on a good gravel road. Drive about 13 km, and then turn right and downhill to the new forestry bridge. Put in just downstream of the bridge.
