This is one of the quinticential trails on Cape Cod (or the eastern seaboard for that matter). Follow a marsh trail across a dike of sand that creates the penninsula of Great island. Great island is a classic sandy spit that jets southward form the Wellfleet shoreline. You'll see stunted pines that fight the prevailing easterly winds blowing across Cape Cod Bay. You'll also have wonderfull veiws off Jeremy points sea of grasses as it points acroos the enterance to Wellfleet bay. This trail undulates up over tree capped dunes with much exposed area. So prepair yourself for open sun and or wind blown sand. The trails are well marked but ensure to consult local tide charts if you wish to venture across to Jeremy Point tip.
