A great place to park and play, this is my favorite park for mountain biking. Of course it helps that I live in one of the towns that the forest encompasses; but it's well worth the trip (half an hour from Boston) for a quick escape from the daily grind. I've ridden over fifty miles of trails here over time, and I keep finding new ones. The trails range from easy fire roads to technical singletrack with all the roots, rocks, and logs that New England riding has to offer. It's a nice, big, quiet place with great scenery and numerous ponds - lots of hidden fun to discover. Use the trail map on the Massachusetts DCR website as a starting point, then let yourself explore. The park also has camping, boating, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. See if you can find my favorite loop; it's like a roller coaster ride on your bike.
Directions:
Route 93 to Route 125 North. Turn right at the state police barracks. There are several parking lots for the next few miles on Harold Parker Road. Stop at any one, get out, and explore!
