The trail is a well used walking trail along the rugged coast. It's a nice walk though a bit steep and close to edges if you are taking kids along. There is a lot of ups and downs on the trail. An alternative to getting to the Hole would be to pay an entrance fee at the Hole in the Wall campground.
This is a unique natural wonder - a hole or natural bridge carved into the rock by the tides. The hole is at N 44° 46.633 W 066° 44.949
Directions:
This trail is on Grand Manan Island. Take the main road (yes there is only one main road in Grand Manan) until you see the Irving gas station in North Head (not far from the ferry terminal). Across the street from the Irving is a church and a road called Cemetary Lane. Take this road up and around the church and stick to it as it turns into a dirt road and then more of a path. Park in front of the last house off the side of the road as much as possible. Walk down to the beach from here using the same road. When you get to the beach follow the trail up to the right (you will see the sign). It is a well worn trail but its not an easy hike (we took the kids - even the two year old and made it to the hole though carrying a two year old the whole way just about did me in). Follow the trail all the way to the Hole.
