This is an easy trail for the entire family. It is quite often run as a group activity by the foks at the Fairmont Resort. After leaving the parking area, follow the old road up the hill through the opening at the left end of the gate. The trail climbs moderately for about 5-10 minutes, then levels out for the remainder. Keep left at junctions, although I think all trails lead to the hoodoos.
Once you arrive at the hoodoos, it might be a good idea to keep little kids close. The hoodoos drop off straight down and any fall would be potentially fatal. Having said that, there is lots of room to travel along the top of the hoodoos and enjoy the changing views. To the south you get good views of Columbia Lake and to the west, Dutch Creek, a major contributor of the lake.
From Fairmont Resort, head south on Hwy 93 for about 1.5-2 miles, looking for Westside Road (about 0.5 miles north of Dutch Creek service station). Turn onto Westside Road and follow for about 2 miles. The is a sign on the right side of the road, the parking area is on the left.

QuestionCould we take our dog (lab) on the trail? I know I'd put her on a leash at the top because of the drop off, but does the trail itself have a drop off too? Thanks!ANSWERS are in this forum: Dogs?
