Description

Put in on a little dock on the East side of Kager lake and paddle to the South end to a small bay with a wooden bridge. Cross the creek (NOT the wooden bridge) and stay right (SE - 5 min by portage) on the trail till you hit Long Lk. . Paddle E to the beaver dam, (Map shows this as "land" across Long Lake), up and over and it's not to far to the other end.

This is a 2 hr leisurely round trip for paddling. The distance is a tough one to determine. If I paddle straight line (no dawdling), it takes about 30-40 minutes. So I would guess that total distance is about 3 km.

Wildlife - beavers, birds, moose, bears, and fish.

There are also great hiking trails all around both lakes that are all accessible by foot from Boer Mtn Road.

Directions:

Off of the highway in Burns Lake turn East, on 5th Ave. 5th Ave goes up the hill, then does a large 180 degree turn to the left, and turns into 9th Ave heading W down the hill. Gowan Rd turnoff is near the top of the hill. Turn right on Gowan Rd, then left (E) on Boer Mtn Forest Service Rd, and go about 3 km to Kager Lk on the right. Just past the lake is a road on the East side, there's a dock about a 100 ft in.
