This trip is best done using a mountain bike to access Kakwa Lake. It is a 30 km. bike ride along the McGregor River using an old Quarry access road. There is a BC Parks cabin to use on a first come basis. Alternately, there is a tent camp site there as well.
Directions:
West of McBride,BC or east of Prince George,BC., drive to the Walker Creek FSR. Drive this road for 73 kms. to its terminus at Bastille Creek.

CommentThe bike you see is my buddies and it's a Gary Fisher. I'm much cheaper than him and I was on a K2. I was pleased though, my bike did fine once I adjusted my brakes properly.
