By J.P.MackenziePosted By: J.P.Mackenzie  - Tue Aug 23 16:00:10 UTC 2016 Not Rated Upside Incredible views. Downside Mud. Long section through heavy brush where trail was slightly obscured Comment Beautiful, challenging day hike in Mackenzie area. Large sections are through bright open forest lower down thanks to pine beetle. Past half way there are a few areas with heavy mud and overgrown brushy areas: cow parsnip, nettles and Devils club which were difficult with our 8 year old. Steep climb in sections as well. Trail feels distinctly longer than 5.5 kms with elevation gain. Viewpoints throughout the hike are a taste of what awaits at the top. Well worth the trip! We will be doing this again. Plan to spend some time at the top for lunch and exploring.
