This circuit comprises lakes bordered by magnificent quiet beaches. The Wapizagonke is renowned for its beautiful landscapes. Steep cliffs, sometimes over one hundred metres high, alternate with inviting sand spits. Situated at a higher altitude, lac du Caribou has exceptionally clear waters, but is also very windy. Good physical condition is required for the portages.

Upside-The paddling is quite nice. You get a mix of some big lakes, small lakes. -Lots of wildlife. I've seen moose, black bear, deer, beaver on this route as well as many different species of bird.
Downside-Lots of canoe carrying. All uphill and downhill. Pretty brutal. -Most of the back country campsites are 'no fire' sites.
CommentNice big route, and I always enjoy completing a loop. All an all, we had a nice warm weekend to run this route with very few bugs. I really wouldn't do either of these portages again unless I really had to. Pictures and GPS route are all from that particular weekend.
