Located in Monmouth, Maine, Lake Annabessacook is a great spot for recreational paddling. You can spend as little as an hour or an entire weekend if you paddle out to the island that is about a mile from the public boat launch. Not a ton of motor boat traffic despite the fact that it's a pretty nice spot for fishing as well.

Directions:

From Lewiston Auburn, follow Route 202 to Norris Hill Road to stop sign. Take a right on Blue Road and then a right onto Main Street. Follow Main Street through the Center of Monmouth (don't blink) go over the railroad tracks and take a left on Pleasant Street (Route 135). Follow this road over some hills about two miles and take a left on Waugan Road. Stay on Waugan for about another mile and there's a public boat launch on the right with parking on the street.

Sorry directions weren't available. Please check the bottom of the description.
