This short hike gets you to an elevation of 7700 feet (2346 m) and a fantastic lookout West over the Rocky Mountain Trench towards the Purcell mountain range and East into the Rocky Mountains.

From the parking lot, the trail up is very straightforward. The trail can be quite steep in sections so a good stretch and warm up is recommended before heading out.

The views from the lookout can be fantastic. Make sure to enter your name in the log. There are copies here from the late 70's making for some entertaining reading.

Enjoy.

Directions:

From Fort Steele travel East an the Wardner-Fort Steele Road for 300m before turning left onto the FT Steele-Wildhorse Road. Follow this road through the old mining ruins of Fisherville and follow the trail-post signs to Lakit Lookout parking lot. (approx 13km).

4X4 is recommended as this road is no longer maintained and can be quite rough.
