This trail starts in the residential area, past some acreages to several viewpoints above the Takhini river and the valley. Then one can continue to make a loop by reaching the old Alaska hwy and coming back on a ridge above the valley. Various connecting and side trails allow for shorter or longer hikes as well as more options for xc skiing in winter.
The wide trail climbs steeply uphill for a bit and then drops down again. The bluffs over the Takhini are reached by a narrow trail to the right, and then it follows near the edge for great views. Sometimes you spot a red fox here or 2 bald eagles on trees across the river and below.
Drive the Alaska hwy past Whitehorse to the North Klondike hwy. Turn right (north) and drive 1.1km until the MacPherson sign, where you turn left. Follow the road until about 100m from the end. There is a wide ATV trail crosses the road here near house # 36. Park and start the trail heading west to your left.
