The West Loop is about five miles, featuring a variety of terrain -- meadows, mixed hardwood forest -- as it loops out to Stone Bridge, the scene of terrible fighting in the Civil War's First Battle of Manassas (Bull Run) in 1861.
The trail is well marked with historical points noted. Keep an eye out for deer, coyote, turkeys etc. Dog-friendly, when leashed. Also a great trail running location. Don't forget the entry fee, though...
