This is one of the best places to walk your dog in Boston. The folks here are real laid back and there are dogs running free everywhere. You can also take the path into the woods for some bird watching or just to get away from the crowds which may be kind of difficult to do depending on what time of day you go. This is a pretty small but popular park that caters to many types of activities. If you take the path from the parking lot into the woods you will find that the trail splits and if you go in one direction you will head towards Adams Farm if you head in the other direction you will find yourself eventually in Newton at Cutler Park. If it's a nice day and you just want to take a stroll in the woods the walk to Cutler Park is an excellent choice. Also if you want an easy bike ride on a soft path this is a great choice. As mentioned in the activities list there is access to the Charles River for kayaking and canoeing. The water level may be low so be sure to consider that before strapping the boat onto your car.
Directions:
From the VFW parkway in West Roxbury you need to take the turn for Home Depot and head straight back past the Home Depot building the road will bring you go through a gate (which closes at dusk) and up a hill. Take your first left to descend the hill and park in any of the spots before the cul-de-sac.
