Easy walk through light brush and some of the oldest trees in the Crowsnest Pass. The path continues on past the falls, but there were heavy tick problems this summer and we have yet to follow it all the way up. Path is narrow in places, but fairly well-maintained and affords a nice view of the creek. You will pass through a gate about 3/4 of the way to the falls, which you will be requested to keep closed. At the falls, there is a fair amount of detritus (logs, etc) that provides ample playground for children, and crawling behind the falls is a snap. Algae, grass, and moss behind the falls, however, so watch your step. There is a sheltered picnic table at the end of the stairs, and room to sit at the base of the falls. There is only one picnic table, however, so keep that in mind if you encounter a lot of people heading up at the same time.
At the parking area for the trail is a water-spray park, with seating and picnic areas nearby. I have no idea how long the trail length is, but I would be surprised if it was over 2km, round trip. I don't know that it's even 1 km one way, but unfortunately, I had to put something there.
Directions:
Heading west on Highway 3, turn right at Coleman Town Centre Access. Turn into Flumerfelt parking lot - water park is on your left, some picnic tables on your right. Trail begins at the north end of the park.
