This is the longest, most strenuous, most scenic direct route to the summit of Monadnock. At the halfway point, the trail becomes rough and rocky, running near the ridgecrest with many minor ups and downs, but offers many excellent views from bare ledges.

Directions:
Follow NH 101 (Main St.) west from the flagpole in Dublin village for 0.4 mi., then turn left onto Lake Rd. The trail (no sign) leaves the road left in another 0.4 mi., opposite a log cabin on the pond, and 75 yd. east of where the road reaches the shore.
