This trail follow Mosquito Creek up on the old Grouse Mountain Highway.

Directions:

Start at the Grouse Mountain parking lot and head East on the Baden Powell. (alternatively, park at the top of Skyline Drive and make your way up to the Baden Powell). After crossing the bridge over Mosquito Creek, follow the path to the left that leads to the old dam (5 min or so). Now head back down and follow the BP up by the water tower and look for a sign that says "Old Grouse Mountain Highway, 50 min." Follow this trail up keeping a keen eye on the orange ribbons as there are lots of detours due to blown down trees. After about an hour of slogging uphill ducking under and over trees, you finally arrive at the destination; a nice spot on Mosquito Creek to stop for lunch. Now retrace your steps back down.

Was a bit slippery cause of the ice on rocks especially and after 20 min of going upwards there was snow compacted by people walking so it was hard and slippery than got to a sort of washout or trees have been uprooted but it seemed like a lot to the point where i could not see if the trail continued on the other side. i saw some steps where someone probably tried getting through but doesnt look like they continued. it was steep on the left and didnt want to risk slipping trying to pass all those fallen trees. It did look like it fell not long ago.

It can be done in a round trip by a fit hiker in like 90 minutes, and although the terrain is steep, it's more like 4.5 - 6.0 kms round trip, I can't imagine that it's 9 kms...
