From Trail Canyon trailhead, proceed to the top of Cockscomb Ridge. Go left and work your way up past Mummy Mountain to the treeless switchbacks. Take these to the top, 11914 ft. Backtrack or take the south loop trail back to the parking lot.
Directions:
From Vegas, take 95 north to the Mount Charleston turnoff. Proceed west until after Old Town and when the road bends east to the Lodge, go straight on the dirt road to the parking lot.
