This Trail is an extension of the trail leading to Mt. Pelops.
From the Sandspit campsite at Lake Lovely Water: there is a trail running up the left side of the creek that drains the Niobe-Omega Basin into Lake Lovelywater.
From the Basin there is a trail which leads from the right side of the creek under a prominent gray rock band to a corner.
This route is difficult to discern, by ascending the snowfield, and picking your way through rock ramps and slab, the snowfield that leads to the Iota-Pelops Col can be regained.
From the Iota-Pelops Col. Iota Mtn. is summited with no technical difficulty.
To gain Mt. Pelops scramble down the east side of Iota to the Iota-Pelops Col. Contour Left to a bushy gully, trending left to easily gain the summit of Mt. Pelops.
Descent is by the same route as ascent, but much faster through the snowfields.
The hike into the Lake starts by following the river to a dry creek. We headed up the creek bed, following flagging tape; although an easier, more enjoyable trail is also available, The trail than climbs steeply through a cut block, into old growth, finally paralleling the creek which originates from Lake Lovelywater.
Lake lovely water is beautiful, with camping at the ACC Hut, or the sandspit: which can be accesssed by following the trail indicated by the BC Parks sign for the Niobe-Omega basin.
