Relatively easy walking on wide paths with one very steep climb. Excellent views in all directions from the summit. Starting point for this hike is the Notch Visitor Center which houses a number of educational and informative displays about the Holyoke Range and its wild inhabitants. Maps can also be obtained here. Full details, map, and background history can be found in a wonderful local guidebook, "Hiking the Pioneer Valley" by Bruce Scofield.
