Mount Wells is a 123-hectare wilderness park located on the edge of an immense protected area of green space just half an hour west of Victoria.
The hike to the summit (352m) of Mount Wells is steep and challenging, suitable for fit hikers.
The summit has spectacular views of Mt Baker, Juan de Fuca Strait, Victoria, the Sooke Hills and the Sea to Sea Green Blue Belt.
Directions:
Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria, and turn left on West Shore Parkway. Turn right on Amy Road and left on Sooke Lake Road. Turn left on Humpback Road. At the intersection with Irwin Road, stay right. Follow Humpback Road to the park entrance on the right.

UpsideSpring wildflowers are worth a trip, especially displays of satin flower. Hand rails have been installed for the steep and slippery parts. A shortish, sweet hike.
