There are a number of different trail options but my favorite is the east to west ridge route. From the kiosk in the parking lot walk for about ten minutes and take your first right. There are a few offshoots along the way but if you stick to the most well travelled path you will break through treeline and begin climbing the east ridge. From here the hike becomes an easy scramble involving some use of hands and a bolted on cable to traverse a short ledge. Choose the path of least resistence and watch for loose or falling rocks on your way to the summit.
Take a minute to sign the summit log before heading down the west ridge and enjoying a great scree run. From here on I have no trail description because we were hit with a sudden hail storm and had to hurry below treeline.
The GPS coords should be accurate until the saddle on the west ridge. From there on there is no trail.
Take the marked Mt Yamnuska turnoff just east of Seebe on Hwy 1a.

QuestionIs there still a lot of snow on the ground? I really want to hike Mt. Yamnuska again sometime soon (hoping in May) but obviously can't do the full hike if there is still a lot of snow on the ground.
ThanksANSWERS are in this forum: Snow?

CommentThere is still plenty of snow on this mountain. We attempted it with mircogrips, but I really wish that we had brought some aggressive snowshoes.

QuestionMe and my two buddy's went two weeks ago not caring for the weather. It ended up being a nice day even though it was November. It made it a tougher hike for sure and when we got right up to the mountain before you start rock climbing coming up the east side, we were in a viscous wind snow storm but was very cool to see the climate change so fast when you get near the top. I'm going back in the summer to scramble it and conquer it. However I did have a fun time. Moderate - challenging ANSWERS are in this forum: Winter run
