The east end of Point Judith harbor refuge is referred to locally as the Mussel Beds. There is great surfing, kiting, sea kayaking, and fishing in this location as the waves enter the east gate of the breakwater from Block Island Sound. There is a right of way with limited parking on Stanton Avenue.
Directions:
Take Route 1 to RI Route 108. Proceed 4 miles and take a right on Sand hill Cove Road. Proceed 1/2 mile and take a left on Staton Ave.
