A week long canoe trip on a series of four lakes connected by the Nation River. It is a one way trip so you will need to arrange a shuttle. The service is available locally if you need it. (http://www.nationlakes.com/) Generally easy travel, although you will need basic moving water skills. There are no portages except possible to get around a log jam. Tremendous scenery, good fishing and you are unlikely to see anyone else except from a distance.
From Prince George drive west to Vanderhoof and then north to Fort St James. Access to both ends of the trip is from Ft St James, but by different Forest Service roads. Ask at the tourist information booth for detailed directions.
