Nipika Mountain Resort is located in the Canadian Rockies beside Kootenay National Park and offers guests a recreational and leisure environment situated right out the front door of their luxurious lodge and cabin accommodations.

Nipika is set amid a 50-kilometre scenic trail network built and maintained for cross country skiing, mountain biking, hiking and trail running. The trails are set along the Kootenay and Cross River valleys.

During cross-country ski season, the trails are regularly professionally groomed with 15 kilometres for classic only. The trails from the lodge to the Cross River are beginner to intermediate, while the trails across the Natural Bridge on the north side of the Cross River are intermediate to expert.

Nipika's hosts are glad to advise visitors on memorable routes, and also host guided tours.

There is a new "Woodlot Loops area" for novice & intermediate skiers, or the challenging new Corral Creek loop, a 6.5 km loop for advanced skiers.

There is the Natural Bridge loop. It has a unique stone arch spanning a deep, narrow canyon, a must to visit!

The Moose Meadow loop
- takes about 5km to reach the start of this loop, intermediate skiing, has access to the trails on the far side of the Cross River, including a new warming hut at junction 9.

There is the North Loop, with views of the river and falls, some steeper sections, for intermediate skiers.
The South loop, an alternate route from the old warming hut to the Natural bridge and back.
And the new trails of the Barn loop, close to the cabins, but two steep hills will be encountered when going to the river and coming back up. Not very long but a good workout, and some exciting skiing down these hills to the river.

Trail fees are $10.00 for adults & $6.00 for children 12 & under, payable at the trail sign near the parking lot. Parking is available at the large barn which has been refurbished as a warmup shelter and meeting place.

Directions:

Nipika is located at 9200 Settlers Road (14 kms off Hwy. 93 at 32 km north of Radium Hot Springs, or 114kms south of Banff, Alberta. Follow the signs on Settlers Road.

Parking area provided for the ski trails system. Trail fees apply in winter only.

Note that on weekdays you will encounter truck traffic on Settlers Road.
