Rodanthe, Waves, has the best flat water kiting in the world. It never gets bigger than 2' waves, and deeper than 5' for 3-4km out, and always a sandy bottom.
We stayed in Mirlo Beach area, the most northern tip of Rodanthe on Hwy 12. This area has the best shallow water of all the Outer Banks.
