This is a quiet river with lots of wildlife including geese, otters, and snapping turtles. You can only go from dam to dam (or bridge to bridge). This river follows highways 295 & 95 with lots of bridges to go under and streams feeding into the river to explore. The farther you go up stream the stronger the current and the shallower it gets, this is when it gets difficult. There are lots of rocks and fallen bridges to go around. You can only paddle up to the waterfall and then coast back...the entire length is about 2-3 hours depending on your ability
From points North:
Take 95 south to exit 12 b
The ramp splits left and right
Go left onto 113
Follow to Route 2 north to the first light
Go into the Sears parking lot
From points South:
Take 95 north to exit 11
Take 295 north to exit 1
Then take 113 to route 2 north.
Park and launch behind Sears Automotive
This is not an easy launch point, but it's the only one that I've found. From the Sears Parking Lot, the paddle takes only about 1-2 hours no matter which way you go.
